Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has caused alarm online after appearing visibly hurt in an emotional Instagram livestream that quickly went viral. In the video, she was seen with a swollen eye and injured lips, crying out for help while attempting to escape as a man repeatedly struck her. Voices believed to be family members were heard trying to intervene.
The incident reportedly took place in Abuja shortly after Ilebaye’s 25th birthday, though the exact cause of the altercation remains unclear and unverified. Social media speculation suggests the man in the video may have been her father, Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya, a former local government chairman from Kogi State, but no official confirmation has been provided.
Neighbours reportedly heard shouting from the residence but could not intervene before the livestream surfaced. Fellow reality stars, including Tacha and Beauty Tukura, reacted online. Tacha called for police assistance in Abuja, while Tukura confirmed Ilebaye was safe but refrained from sharing further details.
The situation has sparked widespread discussion online, with many urging a police investigation while others advise waiting for verified statements. Ilebaye, known for her “Gen Z Baddie” persona, rose to prominence after winning the 2023 BBNaija All Stars, having previously participated in the 2022 Level Up edition. Her previously close relationship with her father has made the allegations particularly shocking to fans.
As of now, neither Ilebaye nor law enforcement has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
