Nigerian Afrobeats and Highlife act DannyTheProphet has marked another step forward in his career with the release of his three-track EP, DTP Vol.1, a project that is already gaining strong attention in major cities across the country.
Based in Abuja and widely known as DTP, the singer continues to carve out space within Nigeria’s evolving music scene. The new body of work combines heartfelt storytelling, energetic rhythms, and rich cultural influences, reflecting both his Afrobeats flair and Highlife roots.
Since its debut, songs from the EP have been heard in malls, fuel stations, and on several radio stations, indicating growing popularity and commercial acceptance.
The project includes three songs — “Bae (Jolly),” “Stay” featuring Lyta, and “Oh Mama” — each highlighting a different dimension of his sound. “Bae (Jolly)” brings lively, romantic energy with infectious melodies and bright instrumentation. “Stay” offers a more emotional tone, blending smooth Afrobeats production with strong vocal synergy between both performers. In contrast, “Oh Mama” embraces cultural themes, drawing heavily from Highlife traditions and storytelling.
The entire EP was produced by Samuel Taiwo and mastered by Zegxmix, resulting in a refined sound that meets international production standards.
DannyTheProphet’s latest release builds on the momentum of his breakout single You Dey Whine Me, which earned him two awards at the Nigerian Heroes Awards and Unity Dance by The Drum Majors in 2025. Observers see DTP Vol.1 as evidence of his continued artistic development and expanding fan base.
Beyond recording success, he has also performed alongside established names such as Timaya, Kcee, and Peruzzi — experiences that have strengthened his stage presence and broadened his visibility.
With this release, DannyTheProphet further positions himself as one of the emerging talents pushing Afrobeats and Highlife into new territory. The rapid integration of the EP into everyday listening spaces suggests strong audience connection and increasing commercial appeal.
